Emergency cooking is often outdoor cooking. You’ll need a way to cook and boil water. Here are some options:

  • The Camp Chef is simple and durable. It hooks up to a standard 20-Pound Propane Cylinder. The griddle and carry bags add functionality and portability.  I like it for camp-outs and backyard canning.
  • The Volcano stove burns on wood or charcoal.  It holds the heat in and works great with Dutch Ovens.
  • The Sun Oven is solar-powered and works great on hot sunny days.
  • The Rocket stove is pretty cool. It will cook your food with the smallest pieces of kindling. The wire rack is there so you can feed in the wood little by little.
  • The Coleman stove is a traditional favorite and works great for camping.
  • The pocket rocket is light, powerful, and simple. It’s a no fuss winner if you have to pack it out on foot.
